Editor's Letter:
It was a terrifically cold night in Moscow last March when Glenda
first approached me with the idea to guest- edit this magazine. I
was there to support my old friend Carolyn Doyle, who was
launching, as editor, Marie Claire Russia. Glenda and I started
chatting and this issue is the result.
It's a new year. And when we say things like "New Year, New You,"
we aren't saying that we want you to change. We are saying that
we want you to take control and live in a way that makes you feel
good about yourself. Apply that in any and all the ways we touch
on that mean something to you: Read a great novel, get in shape,
buy yourself a new dress, volunteer some of your time to help a
child, make a Sunday lunch for friends--ANYTHING. There are no
limits and no rules. When you do things that make you feel good,
you raise the quality of your life. So start small if you like,
but do some good for yourself in this brand spankin' new year,
'cause this is your life and you are important.
