Kuo replaces Heyward on NL All-Star team

In lieu of injured rookie Jayson Heyward being one of the youngest to play in
an All-Star Game, Dodgers pitcher Hong-Chih Kuo will carry a different
distinction to Anaheim: the first Taiwanese All-Star.

National League manager Charlie Manuel named the Los Angeles left-hander to
the squad on Sunday as Heyward's replacement after the Braves' rookie
announced his thumb injury would prevent him from making the start.

Charlie Manuel(國聯總教頭)指名郭泓志代替手指受傷的勇士新秀。

Manuel actually first extended the honor to Heyward's teammate, veteran
closer Billy Wagner, who turned down the opportunity, opting for a chance to
rest his sore ankle. The Brewers' Corey Hart will start in Heyward's place.

事實上，Manuel先尋求Heyward的隊友，終結者Billy Wagner。但是Wagner也因
腳踝的傷勢所苦，婉拒了這個機會。釀酒人的Corey Hart會取代 Heyward的先發位置。

Kuo, currently 3-1 with a 1.03 ERA, has been a strong force out of the
Dodgers' bullpen for manager Joe Torre this season, mostly because of his
unique tools.

武器。

"You look around the league, you don't see lefties throwing 95-plus," said
Dodgers catcher A.J. Ellis. "It's just an uncomfortable at-bat."

Kuo will join teammates Rafael Furcal, Jonathan Broxton and Andre Ethier in
Anaheim this week.
