One night after the Mets blanked the Dodgers behind a solid 6 1/3 innings
from Tom Glavine, the Dodgers received a quality start from Hong-Chih Kuo to
beat the Mets, 5-0, on Friday in front of 52,077 at Shea Stadium.

Kuo, a 25-year-old rookie left-hander who had not started in the Major

The Mets' only threat came in the fifth after Kuo allowed the single to

with three walks and four strikeouts.
