In a rousing effort, Justine defeated Francesca Schiavone 6-4 7-5 in two hours.
This match had everything, tension, bad line calls, tempers, edgy shot making,
balls kicked into the stands, brilliant shot making, dodgy serves, and possibly
even gamesmenship. The next match features Kirsten Flipkens up against Italian
Mara Santangelo. If the Italians tie up today's singles matches, the 2006 Fed
Cup trophy will be decided by a doubles match with Justine rumoured to be
enlisted.
