Justine's training sessions have gone well, and she has decided to move into
higher gear by taking the wildcard accorded to her by the organizers at the
Pilot Pen. Justine will play her first tournament since the Wimbledon final
in New Haven on the Connecticut Tennis Center at the campus of Yale University
next week. She'll be seeded #2 for the event and received a bye for the 1st
round.
This will be Justine's fourth visit to New Haven at the Pilot Pen, she has
played there in 2000, 2001, and 2002. Other players in the draw will be
Amelie Mauresmo, Lindsay Davenport, Anastasia Myskina, Svetlana Kuznetsova,
and Elena Dementieva. The Belgian tennis icon will play her first hardcourt
summer match of the season on Tuesday or Wednesday.
