BERLIN 06: Revenge?

Justine's attempt for a 4th Berlin trophy was foiled by Nadia Petrova today
6-4 4-6 5-7. The Russian had designed a revenge scenario after losing to the
Belgian two weeks ago in a highly charged Fed Cup 3 set rubber in Liege.
Justine can now give her total focus to Roland Garros preparations.

Justine had her revenge against Amelie on Saturday, and Nadia Petrova did the
same to the Belgian for taking Russia out of Fed Cup glory. The world's
greatest 1-handed backhand played controlled, and excellent tennis in the
first set. She won it without much struggle at 6-4, but Nadia had other ideas.

It was from the second set that the Russian took more risks as Justine let
her guard down, and played far too behind the baseline. Justine dropped her
service hold, and played catch up tennis throughout the second set. Nadia's
sharper focus led her to win 6-4.

The third set was all about the service holds. Petrova continued to keep her
clean service holds as Justine's lack of concentration gave out careless free
points to the Russian. There wasn't the high powered explosiveness or purpose
with forward momentum that's the usual Justine trademark today; despite
equalizing at 5-5. She lost her serve in the last game to Petrova, and the
match 6-4 4-6 5-7.

感覺好像有點久沒拿冠軍了
不過法網一定要衛冕的...紅土女王加油...
