World No. 1s Meet in Canberra
Two-time reigning year-end World No. 1 Lleyton Hewitt met with President
George Bush last week during the President's visit to Australia and Asia.
Australian Prime Minister John Howard invited Hewitt to hear Mr. Bush speak
before the Australian Parliament and then to a private luncheon at The Lodge,
the Prime Minister's residence in the Australian capital, Canberra.
Hewitt said: "It was quite an honor. I was really surprised and impressed
with the President's knowledge and appreciation of the game. Maybe if I win
the US Open again, I'll get invited to his place!"
Hewitt is next scheduled to play in the Davis Cup final between Australia
and Spain in Melbourne from November 28-30.
