Kevin-Prince Boateng is more than prepared to be patient in waiting for
First Team opportunities having realised his immediate aim last week against
Anorthosis Famagusta.
The German Under-21 international, who joined from Hertha Berlin in the summer,
made his senior debut in the UEFA Cup return in Cyprus in what was not the
easiest encounter to make an impression in with the home side set on damage
limitation after suffering a 6-1 reverse in the first leg at the Lane.
For Kevin though, it was a crucial breakthrough, the chance to sample the
First Team environment at his new club.
"It was good for me to get my first game," he considered. "I have such a good
feeling about this club and being in London, I am now married and we also have
a baby on the the way.
"The only feeling that was missing was being involved in a First Team game and
now that feeling is there - everything is perfect.
"It was a difficult game because most of their team stayed back, they had nine
men behind the ball nearly all the time and it is always hard to play against
a team that plays like that.
"It was just important for me to get involved, I train hard and try to do my
best for the Reserve Team. I will get my reward one day."
Kevin has clearly taken to life in the south of England and, from looking on,
he has assessed a key element of what is required to succeed in Premier League
football when opportunity eventually knocks.
"It is very fast and you have to be fast yourself in mind and body. You have
to make the right decisions and make them quickly on the pitch.
"Settling in over here has been easy, I've got a nice house and my wife and I
are very happy.
"The main thing is to get playing and that is a big challenge because we've got
a lot of top midfield players. I think if I train hard I will get my chance, I
am a patient boy and you will see that."

Boateng也被大家認為他有在英超成功的元素
"在場上你必須要在瞬間做出決定
在倫敦我過的很安逸，我有一間房子也有美嬌娘
最主要的事情還是踢球，這是一大挑戰，因為我們中場人才濟濟
我想我認真訓練總會有機會，我有耐心"
