Jermaine Jenas felt the cushion of a second goal was key as we pushed on for a
convincing win against Wigan.
The midfielder provided the quick one-two himself with goals after 13 and 26
minutes and it was 3-0 at the break thanks to Aaron Lennon’s fine volley.
JJ was denied a hat-trick by the linesman’s flag in a dominant second half
display that saw Darren Bent complete the scoring and both Dimitar Berbatov
and Younes Kabouk strike the woodwork.
Wary of a number of games this season when we’ve lost a 1-0 lead, JJ reasoned:
“We always know we’re going to score goals but getting to a more comfortable
scoreline like 2-0 or 3-0 and controlling the game, that’s when we were able
to show the skill and the flair and be able to express ourselves.
“With the ability in the squad one thing we don’t have to worry about is
scoring goals with the likes of Keano, Berba, Benty and Jamma (Jermain Defoe)
around.
“We’re an attacking force and with others also pitching in with goals, it’s
something that comes naturally to us. As long as we don’t leak goals
defensively as team, which is something we’ve been working in, then we should
win a lot more games.
“The most important thing to come out of Sunday was three points and we can
now start climbing the table. Keeping another clean sheet was a big plus as
well and it will give us a lot of confidence.”
JJ of course had a double celebration – his girlfriend Sabrina gave birth to
their first child, baby girl Sancha Natasha, last week.
“The goals were a tribute to her, really,” beamed JJ. “It’s a new
experience in life.
“My first love has always been football and then a baby comes along and there
is something more important in life.
“It’s fantastic, I’m enjoying it. I’ve not really had any sleepless nights
because my girlfriend has been brilliant. She knows I’ve got games and can’t
get interrupted, so she’s probably more responsible for the goals than I
was.”

JJ在對Wigan的比賽中很遺憾的被線審沒收掉帽子
之前有很多次丟掉1-0領先局面的紀錄
JJ說到:
" 我們知道我們要再進球才能更安穩的控制比賽
在這邊我們前面有四大金釵 所以我們最不擔心的就是進球 "
" 我們聚焦攻擊 所以進球也是理所當然
之前我們防守做不好 但是現在我們已經在下工夫 我們應該要贏更多球賽 "
" 週日不只是拿到三分 我們也開始在積分榜上爬升
拿下cs對我們的信心有莫大的提升 "
上週JJ的女朋友Sabrina生下的一位小女生 取名為Sancha Natasha
JJ說:
" 這兩球獻給他 這是人生的新經驗 "
" 之前我的最愛是足球 而現在小寶寶是我人生的新重心 "
" 非常棒 我很享受 我從未有失眠的夜晚
因為我女朋友知道我有比賽 不能打擾 所以這兩球他的功勞更大 "

而且JJ先上車後補票 XDDD
