Tottenham Hotspur - Triple injury boost
Tottenham have been handed a triple fitness boost ahead of the Christmas
and New Year period with Jermain Defoe, Aaron Lennon and Wayne Routledge
all expected to be fit.
Defoe limped out of the weekend's action at Middlesbrough with an ankle
injury with the initial fear that he could be out for two weeks, but it
now appears that the injury is not as bad as first feared and Defoe should
be fit for the Boxing Day clash with Birmingham.
Lennon and Routledge both missed the Riverside draw but both are fit and
available handed Martin Jol a boost after he was told that Teemu Tainio is
expected to miss the festive programme with a knee injury.
Andy Reid has also picked up an injury and could also be sidelined for the
games against Birmingham, West Brom, Newcastle, Manchester City and the
FA Cup clash with Leicester.
