Ichiro gets 1,700th hit in loss

SEATTLE -- Ichiro Suzuki reached another round number on
his way up the Major League's all-time hit leaderboard on
Thursday night.
The Mariners right fielder had three more singles, becoming
the 30th player to reach the 1,700-hit mark during the Mariners'
8-4 loss to the Tigers in front of 22,523 at Safeco Field.
"It's unbelievable what he has accomplished over here, and we
just hope he keeps doing it," interim manager Jim Riggleman said.
