Jam Hsiao's dental bills total S$25,000

Taiwanese singer Jam Hsiao has a self-described sweet tooth, and a mouthful
of cavities due to his candy-eating habits and a $25,000 dental bill to prove
it. He also admits to dislike brushing his teeth.

The 22-year-old shot to instant fame in the first season of hit Taiwanese
singing competition, One Million Star as one of the strongest PK challengers
(who are brought into the show to knock out the participating contestants),
and has since released two albums after making his debut in 2008..

Afraid that the singer's cavities might be an eyesore, Jam's manager ordered
him to visit the dentist, and he dutifully complied.

Besides a thorough cleansing, washing and filling session, the singer also
underwent more than five tooth implants for a total amount of S$15,000.

Coincidentally, Jam had to film a music video the next day for 'New Endless
Love' from his latest music album, Princess, after his visit to the dentist.
Worried about Jam's swollen face, his dentist had to place two ice packs on
the singer's cheeks to ease the swelling.

Although his cheeks are no longer swollen, Jam had a hard time coping during
his music video. When reporters requested for him to play the saxophone, he
said, "Blowing like this makes my teeth ache again! I have to visit not only
the dentist but also the doctor, I hate visiting the doctor!"

Jam's manager offered to bring him to the dental clinic to collect some
medicine but was flatly rejected by the singer who expressed his disdain
towards visiting the dentist. The singer shared that his lack of calcium is a
hereditary trait that runs in his family. He recently brought his parents and
siblings to the dentist's and spent a total of S$50,000 on their dental bills.
