New G-14 President and Management Board elected 02/09/20
The G-14 General Assembly held a plenary meeting at the
Estadio Dragao of FC Porto on 2nd September and elected
its new Management Board and President.
For the next 2 years, the Management Board will be composed of :
- R. Bettega
- D. Dein
- J. Nuno Pinto da Costa
- J. Laporta
- M. Meier
The elected President is Roberto Bettega for Juventus FC.
The General Assembly received an update on the case investigated
by the Swiss competition authority (COMCO) regarding the legality
of the FIFA regulations governing players' release for national duty.
They discussed the repeated conflicts in the context of the recent
international friendly matches. It was unanimously resolved to
address FIFA to obtain written confirmation of the agreement between
the South American Confederation and FIFA whereby players' release
for friendly matches is at the entire discretion of the clubs if
these matches are played outside Europe.
Discussions also took place regarding the ambiguity surrounding the
5% solidarity payment for tranfers and also the subject of double -
headed internatiobnal matches to be played on Saturday/Tuesday as
opposed to Saturday/Wednesday
