Di Vaio's profile 02 09 2002 from:Juventus.com Marco Di Vaio doesn't need many introductions. He was born in 1976 in Rome and he's one of the emerging Italian forwards. Grown in the Lazio young teams, with its shirt he played the first match in the Serie A, on Novembre the 20th, 1994, when the team from Rome outscored Padova 5-1. In that season he played 8 matches, scoring 3 goals and the following season he moved to Verona, in the Serie B. That was the first of three seasons in that league, all played with different teams. From Verona to Bari, till Salerno. With the Salernitana, in 1997/1998, he explodes, scoring 21 goals in 36 matches and taking his team into the Serie A. He remained in Campania also in 1998/1999, living another season as protagonist, and, despite his team went back to Serie B, he scored 12 goals, a good scoring for his first complete season in Serie A. He deserved then to be confirmed in the Serie A, moving to the ambitious Parma. In Emilia he lived a progressive escalation: he started with 6 goals in the first season, reached 15 in the second and completed the last one with 20. In the beginning of this season he started again with Parma, trying to stop Juventus in its victory of the Italian Supercup. In Tripoli, on August, the 25th, he scared his future teammates scoring the goal of the temporary draw, just before the decisive goal by Del Piero, which gave the trophy to the blackandwhites, of whom from now Di Vaio is one of the most important players.
