Di Vaio wins Lippi faith Tuesday 15 July, 2003

Boss Marcello Lippi has given Marco Di Vaio a second chance to impress
after a difficult start to his Juventus career.
The Italian international arrived at the Delle Alpi from Parma last
summer but failed to perform consistently well.
"Although he was hampered by a number of injuries and by the fact that
it was his first season here, Marco showed he knows where the goal is,"
said the tactician.
"His is a striker of undoubted quality and ability, a player that can
be relied upon when needed.
"I expect a lot from him in the new campaign when I am sure that he will
improve and score regularly."
There was talk that Di Vaio could be sold by Juventus this summer, maybe
in a part exchange deal with Lazio for Bernardo Corradi.
But Bianconeri transfer chief Luciano Moggi maintains that the Lazio
youth product is going nowhere.
"A lot of players struggle to find their feet when they first join us,"
said Moggi. "But we are in no rush and are certain that Di Vaio will do
a lot better in the new campaign."
Di Vaio was also linked with a switch to Milan earlier this summer in a
deal that could have seen Jon Dahl Tomasson move in the other direction.
