Brescia-Juventus 2-0

Nearly a year after Juventus was back in Brescia:
last Decemeber, the 23rd, whiteandblacks won 4-0 and
started the long run towards the Scudetto.
Today the goal was to reach the first place in the standings.
Juventus started the match with Buffon as goalkeeper,
Thuram, Ferrara and Pessotto in the defence, Zambrotta
on the right, Camoranesi, Tacchinardi and Davids in the
midfield, with Nedved as a link with the forwards, Di Vaio
and Zalayeta. Del Piero and Montero were on the bench.
Juventus started well especially on the right but the
match was levelled and in the first 30 minutes Buffon
and Sereni didn’t suffer many risks. The first emotion
came at 28'when Baggio went close to score with a remarkable
volley. On the other side it was Di Vaio to be dangerous
with a header on cross by Camoranesi: the shot was slightly
wide. After another try by Di Vaio, the first half finished
on 1-1.
In the second half Lippi picked up Moretti for Pessotto.
Juventus tried to scored straight away, brought on by Nedved
but the first chance was for the team from Lombardia with
Schopp: his shot hit the bar. At 'Alex Del Piero substituted
Di Vaio but the good chance came for Zalayeta: on a good cross
by Zambrotta from the right the Uruguayan hit with a header
but Sereni was ready to save.
Around the 30'last substitution for whiteandblacks: Davids
out and Conte in but at 32'“Rondinelle”scored: long cross
by Pisano and header by Schopp for the 1-0. Juventus tried to
recover but Brescia stroke again in a counterattack: at the
end of a long action Appiah assisted Tare who scored the 2-0.
In the final minutes there was a little discussion between
Matuzalem and Nedved: Farina picked up the yellow cards for
both but for the Brazilian it was the second one and so he
was sent off. In the seven minutes of injury time nothing
happened any more: the match finished 2-0 for Brescia and
so it arrived the first defeat in this year’s Serie A.
From tomorrow let's think about Basel, next Champions
League's opponent.
