Here's Legrottaglie

After a midfielder (Blasi) and a forward (Miccoli), to complete the ideal hat
trick of bianconeri newcomers for 2003/2004 season, there couldn't be anyone
else but a defender: from today, then, Nicola Legrottaglie is a Juventus'
player.

Born in Gioia del Colle, in Puglia (provence of Bari) nearly 27 years ago (his
birthday is on the 10th of October), he arrives in Turin from Chievo after a
season and a half lived as a protagonist. From the 18th November 2001, day of
his debut in Serie A, his life has changed and his career boosted: around 40
matches played in Serie A (scoring 6 goals), debut in the European Cups and in
the Italian National team.

The last great deal made by bianconera society is a really important one and
it's important also the chance for the boy from Puglia: he's quite aware of it: “
I'm honoured and very happy of having the chance of playing with Juventus,
surely one of the strongest team in the world. Being here is a reward for all
the sacrifices made by me and my family”.

He's one of the strongest Italian defender, Trapattoni selected him for the
National team and he's now arrived in a defense that has been one of the
toughest in the last two seasons. Now he can play alongside champions like
Ferrara, Montero, Iuliano and Thuram. This can't be anything but a positive
fact for Legrottaglie: “I can't wait to show my skills but I also want to
learn. I know I can still improve and this is another push for me to do well.
Lippi? I spoke with him on the phone: it was the first time ever I spoked with
him. We just said hello: we'll have time to know each other better”.

The arrival of Legrottaglie at Juventus closed one of the "talks" of the market
transfers. Some people said that he would have ended up going to Roma but the
defender himself wants to close the question: “I've never said I preferred
Roma. There were talks about two great teams and both of them were good to me.
I can only repeat that I'm very happy of the choice I've made and I feel I'm
completely "bianconero". What about Chievo? They've always worked well all
through these years and they will keep on doing well. I can't do anything else
but being thankful to all of them for giving me the chance of being famous and
arriving here at Juventus.”
