What are your favourite English and Mandarin CDs of all time?
In English, it's the soundtrack of Until The End Of The World,
for a conscious reason and a subconscious reason. The wonderful
part about soundtracks is that there are different artistes.
The first track is by Neneh Cherry. Very surreal. The subconscious
reason I like it is because the first time I heard the CD, I was
in this altered state of mind. I'd gone for 48 hours without sleeping.
Even now, when I listen to it, I am brought back to that state.
My favourite Mandarin album would be David Huang's You Made Me
Drunk (Ni Ba Wo Guan Zui). It's very good for driving. He is so
impassioned. It's like "Wow!''
What CDs are you listening to now?
I've just come up with my own album, so I listen to my songs to
learn. Usually, when my CD is out, I don't like to listen to it.
But this time round, I really enjoy the songs in there. (Laughs)
Other CDs are religious-sounding ones. Music I bought during my
trip to Nepal.
(Suddenly) I like the Indigo Girls' Rites Of Passage. They have
songs that are straightforward, and miraculously, there are clever
twists in the song.
What is your ideal Saturday night chill-out album?
If I'm drinking and chatting with friends at home, maybe jazz.
I don't like fusion. The more mellow jazz, with vocals.
(Emphasises) Mellow vocals. When I go away, I take CDs along that
I will enjoy. A nice mix of at least 20 or more.
Do you listen to music by other homegrown musicians and singers?
I don't buy many CDs, and I don't buy CDs of people I work with.
Mavis Hee and Tanya, these two are very good. (Laughs) But don't
ask me about the rest, okay? Oh, and Jacintha (Abisheganaden). I
have one of her CDs as a present from a friend, she's good too.
Do you listen to your old albums? After all, you have so many.
(Gasp) I don't listen to them for relaxation, only to recap. The
further back the song, the stranger it is. I hear myself at a very
tender age. Well, relatively. I can see right through to how I was
trying to be mature.To my ears, I sounded very precocious.
At that time, it sounded real, but now, it's "Oh my god!' Especially
for Heartache, I can hear the feelings, very raw and quite sweet.
But also quite embarrassing. (Chuckles)

你最喜歡的英語及國語CD是？
英語的是「直至世界末日」的原聲帶，有個兩個原因。
第一個原因，很明顯，原聲帶最棒的地方就是有很多不同的藝人。
第一首歌是Neneh Cherry的，非常超現實。我喜歡它的潛在原因，是因為
當我第一次聽到這CD時，我正神遊太虛中。那時我已經四十八小時沒睡了。
即使是現在，當我聽到這CD，我仍會被帶回當時的狀態。
我最喜歡的國語專輯是黃大煒的「你把我灌醉」。非常精力旺盛的，適合在開車聽。
他也非常熱情、狂熱。就像是"哇"!!
你現在在聽哪些CD？
我才剛發行我的新專輯，所以聽自己的歌在學。
通常，我是不太聽自己的CD的。但是這次，我很喜歡我新專輯裡的歌（笑）。
其他CD就是宗教味比較重的。我在尼泊爾旅行時的獲物。
（忽然間）我喜歡藍色女孩的「航行禮儀」（我亂翻的，別理我）。她們
的歌粗獷且驚人，她們在歌中巧妙的混合了這兩個元素。
什麼是妳理想的專輯，在星期六涼涼的晚上？（我又亂翻）
如果我和我的朋友在家裡喝東西、聊天，可能是爵士音樂。
我不喜歡合成樂。要有醇厚的爵士，要有歌聲。
（強調）醇厚的歌聲。當我離家，我總是帶著我喜歡聽的CD一道走。
差不多20張或多一點。
妳有聽其他本地音樂人或歌手的作品嗎？
我沒有買很多CD，我也不買和我一起工作的人的CD。
許美靜和蔡建雅，這兩位非常不錯。（笑）但不要再問我其它的了，好嗎？
喔，對了還有Jacintha (Abisheganaden)。我有一張她的CD，朋友給我當禮
物的，她也很好。
妳會聽妳的舊專輯嗎？畢竟，妳有很多。
（氣喘吁吁地....ㄟ應該有點像狂笑吧）休閒時我不聽啊，除了複習。
越往回聽，越覺得奇怪。聽自己還很嫩的時候。
呃，當然，相對地，我可以看見我如何走向成熟。
對我的耳朵來說，我聽起來是非常早熟的。
在那時，聽起來非常真實，但現在，就是「喔！我的天啊！」
特別是心痛，聽見裡面的情感，非常生硬，而且太甜了。但也相當的尷尬。
（喀喀笑）
