Kit Chan gets down and dirty

DIGGING latrines and other dirty work are not beneath Singapore
singer-songwriter Kit Chan when it comes to community service.
Chan, who completed a humanitarian tour of Ethiopia with a non-profit
Christian relief body in August, ended a two-week trip to Phnom Penh
in Cambodia last Friday where she helped to build a playground and toilet
facilities for poor children.
The 28-year-old National Youth Council Youth Ambassador was part of a
team of 21 students and teachers in a Youth Ambassador Community Service
Project organised by World Vision, the world's largest privately-funded
Christian non-profit relief organisation.
The project was to enhance the awareness of poverty in developing countries
among youths through community service projects.
