Trial Delayed Until September

(2-5-2011) A Los Angeles County Superior Court judge agreed Monday to push
back the involuntary manslaughter trial of Dr. Conrad Murray until September.

LA最高法院法官同意Murray過失殺人案件將一路推遲到九月

Judge Michael Pastor made the ruling at the request of Murray's defense
attorneys.

法官同意了辯方律師的申請

The defense stated they could not be ready for trial, which was set to begin
with opening statements next week, because of 'eleventh-hour' prosecution
experts debunking their theory that Michael Jackson died by his own hand.

辯方聲稱原來下禮拜將開審的案件他們還沒有準備好 因為檢方最新的證人推翻了MJ
是自己自殺身亡的推論

Prosecutors in the case contend their medical experts did not propose any new
theories, and the defense caused the situation by invoking Murray’s right to
a speedy trial.

檢方並沒有提出新的理論 而辯方是因為原來申請要加速審理而導致這個局面

Prosecutors told Judge Pastor last week that one of their experts reached the
conclusion that it would have been impossible for Jackson to have caused his
own death by orally ingesting the drug propofol - an argument that defense
attorneys made during preliminary hearings.

上個禮拜 簡芳告訴法官 他們有專家可以做出結論 MJ不可能自己喝下Propofol致死
這是之前聽證會時辯方的說法

The 171 potential jurors who filled out lengthy questionnaires about the case
in March will be excused and the process will start all over again with a new
panel being selected beginning Sept. 8, the judge said.

已經在三月填了關於這個案件相關問題的問卷的潛在陪審團員們將解散 而新的陪審團
選將在9/8號再次篩選

Pastor said the delay was necessary for “fundamental fairness.”

法官說 這次的延期是為了要對兩方都公平
