Michael Jackson has spent the last two weeks in the studio, recording his new song "What More Can I Give," which will help support survivors and families of victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in USA. The song, written and produced by Jackson, will be an ensemble recording. Among the artists joining him in the studio for this fundraising effort are Destiny's Child, Reba McEntire, Tom Petty, Brian McNight, Seal, and Boyz II Men. Jackson is recording each of the performers individually and will mix them together in the studio for the final product. English and Spanish versions of the song are planned. "What More Can I Give" lyrics include the phrase: "...to help the world's citizens find solace in the wake of the attack on America and to create a sense of global unity in the face of mindless violence and mass murder." Jackson hopes to raise $50 million with this recording; all proceeds will be donated to the relief effort. Please see MJIFC News item dated Sept. 16, 2001 for additional details.
