Kings turn to Greene, regain winning touch

Paul Westphal could do without the sweeping pendulum swings, but he would be
just fine if the momentum continued in this direction for his Kings team.

The coach called for caution when his team's four-game winning streak brought
some buzz back to Arco Arena two weeks ago, then asked for patience when the
Kings followed it with a four-game losing streak capped by Monday's loss in
Memphis.

    教頭在四連勝的時候就提醒過球員依然要謹慎，而在四連敗時，他則要求球員們要保
持耐心。

With a 111-97 home win over New York on Wednesday, the Kings are one step
closer to taking advantage of a stage of their schedule that falls in their
favor.

The Knicks were first on the docket, with Mike D'Antoni's squad falling to
3-12 while looking every bit like a team that's waiting with the rest of the
NBA nation to see what happens with the 2010 free-agent market. The Kings
host a New Jersey team Friday that is 0-15, continuing the stretch in which
seven of their next 11 games are at home with only three against teams with
winning records.

No one enjoyed returning home more than Donte' Greene. He had 24 points and
six blocks, both career highs, in 35 minutes while continuing his recent
stretch of solid play. With point guard Beno Udrih out because of a virus,
Greene started for third time this season and scored in double digits for the
sixth time in the past nine games.

He scored 13 points in a third quarter in which the Kings extended their
10-point halftime lead to 20, enjoying the playground atmosphere afforded by
the defensively disinterested Knicks. No basket sparked more oohs than his
dunk with seven minutes left in the third, when Greene spun off Larry Hughes
on the right wing and soared for a right-hand slam.

But it was Greene's three-point shooting that sparked a mini-controversy in
the Kings' locker room. After hitting just 26 percent from beyond the arc
last season, Greene had been implored by Westphal to resist the urge to
launch from long range. Even after Greene shot 6 of 7 from three-point range
Wednesday, Westphal said Greene is "not a three-point specialist."

    不過Greene的三分也引起了小小的爭議。他前一季的得分有26趴來自三分線，教頭希
望Greene能不要這麼大量嘗試長射。即使他今天有七投六中的三分線表現，教頭依然表示
Greene不會拿到三分的無限開火權。

"Forget the fact that he was shooting the ball well," Westphal said. "His
decision-making and his defense were what was so outstanding."

    「他的投籃就甭提了，今天他的決定和防守表現都很優秀。」教頭說。

Tyreke Evans joked that he has been encouraging Greene in the area that
Westphal has discouraged him so.

    Evans 開玩笑說當教頭反對時，他鼓勵Greene這樣做。（開個屁玩笑....）

"Coach gets on him sometimes when he takes bad shots, but he's doing a good
job keeping his head up," Evans said. "Sometimes he puts his head down and
gets frustrated. Coach tells him not to shoot, and I tell him to shoot. I'm
the guy out there on the floor. He's a shooter, and he's going to make it or
miss it. I'll ride with him."

    「當他亂投時教頭會釘他，但他總能保持自信。有時他會低落。教頭會叫他不要射，
我則會要他射。我是跟他一同在場上的球員。他是個射手，而他可能會命中，也可能會失
手。我會與他一同承擔。」Evans 說。

Evans came up one point shy of scoring 20 or more for the eighth consecutive
time while nearing a triple double with a career-high 11 rebounds and seven
assists. The scoring mark would have broken a Sacramento-era record, but
Evans was taken out for the last time with 3:11 remaining.

    Evans 今天差一分就連八場破沙加緬度時期新人紀錄，他也差一點拿下大三元，但第
四節時他被換下場。

"I think coach must have been friends with the guy who had the record (Lionel
Simmons)," Evans joked. "It was a little struggle for me looking up there
being stuck on 19."

Evans 開玩笑說。

The Kings beat an Eastern Conference team at home for the first time since a
win over Toronto on March 16, 2008, a stretch in which they were 0-18. The
Knicks received 25 points apiece from David Lee and Nate Robinson but shot
just 38.5 percent overall. The Kings shot 48.3 percent.

    這是我們自從去年三月十六號以來，第一次打敗東區來訪的球隊，之前是十八連敗。
David Lee 和Nate Robinson 都拿下二十五分，但尼克的命中率只有三成八五，國王則是
四成八三。

The Kings jumped to a 19-6 lead six minutes in, hitting eight of their first
12 shots in a run capped by a Greene three-pointer. But they committed five
first-quarter turnovers, and the Knicks' 8-0 run cut the lead to 19-14 before
the quarter finished with the Kings up 30-24.

    國王有個好開始，只打六分鐘就有十九比六的領先。但第一節他們還是有五個失誤，
一度讓對手打出八比零的攻勢，最後國王以30比24結束第一節。

Greene got the second quarter off to a nice start, burying a three-pointer at
the shot-clock buzzer from beyond the arc to put the Kings up 11. Evans
scored eight points during a 10-2 run that pushed their lead to 43-28.

    Greene帶隊在第二節初打了個小高潮，他的三分球讓國王領先十一分。Evans 也在一
波十比二的攻勢中獨拿八分，讓國王以43比28領先。
