But on Friday night, halftime allowed Spencer Hawes' right knee to stiffen up
just enough to end another good game for the third-year center.

即使HAWES膝蓋僵硬第三節下場  國王還是贏了

Hawes banged knees with New Jersey Nets guard Chris Douglas-Roberts during
the first half. Hawes' bruised knee left him watching part of the third
quarter from a stationary bike and the fourth quarter from the bench with his
knee wrapped in ice as the Kings defeated the Nets 109-96 at Arco Arena.

第二節他的膝蓋被CDR一撞  讓HAWES下半場的比賽幾乎只能作壁上觀

Hawes had 16 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks in 28 minutes.

"If we could have kept going, I probably would have been all right," Hawes
said.



"But halftime kind of slowed me down. The third quarter, I guess I didn't
look too good moving around."

Losing Hawes meant the Kings had to rely on Kenny Thomas and Jon Brockman,
both 6-foot-7, to deal with New Jersey center Brook Lopez.


沒有中鋒HAWES  國王只能依靠KT跟BROCKMAN  撐大局


Lopez finished with 24 points and 11 rebounds, but Kings coach Paul Westphal
knows Lopez could have done more against the Kings' undersized frontcourt in
the third quarter.

教練知道HAWES下去後  LOPEZ就爽翻了

"I think you could say Kenny was probably the difference in the game for us
because Lopez is a handful," Westphal said.

Hawes was winning the matchup in the box score against Lopez at halftime.
Hawes already had 16 points and eight rebounds, while Lopez had 11 points and
just two rebounds.

Hawes was on pace for his second consecutive solid showing. He scored 16
points in just 18 minutes as the Kings routed the New York Knicks on
Wednesday night.

After struggling offensively to start the season, Hawes appears to be finding
his way. He had 24 points in last Saturday's loss at Houston.

"I think so," Hawes said when asked if he was more comfortable in the offense.

"Finding where I can be effective and also playing off my teammates and
making plays for them and them doing the same for me."

Hawes tried to persuade Westphal to put him back in during the fourth
quarter. The Nets had made a run, cutting the Kings' 22-point lead down to
six. But Westphal left Hawes on the bench rather than risk further injury.

"It just hurt his mobility," Westphal said. "He said he could go back in the
fourth, but I felt like it was too much of an experiment."

Hawes remained upbeat afterward, thanks to the play of the Kings' reserves.

"It's frustrating," Hawes said. "But the way guys stepped in … it makes it a
little bit easier on the sidelines."

HAWES他事後表示無所謂


"恩  還好其他隊友也很爭氣  讓我能輕鬆在場邊當個拉啦隊"

The Kings host New Orleans on Sunday night, and Hawes believes he will be
ready.

"It's pretty stiff right now," Hawes said of his knee. "But we're doing
everything we can, and it should be good to go by (Sunday)."

The Kings' reserves were key, not just for the job they did in fighting Lopez
in the paint.

Sacramento's bench outscored the Nets' bench 54-8. Omri Casspi came off the
bench to score a career-high 18 points. Beno Udrih had 21 points after
missing Wednesday night's game because of the flu.

Tyreke Evans led Sacramento's starters with 21 points. Devin Harris finished
with 25 points to lead New Jersey.
