The Kings understandably want to move on. No need to dwell on the infamous
blowout, players said, even if the bad taste lingers.

said. "When you get beat like that, you have to try to get it out of your

Which is what Kings coach Kenny Natt said he tried to do Wednesday in
practice by choosing to focus on the future and not their disappointing start
to the week. The Kings suffered the NBA's worst blowout this season, taking a
129-81 beating from the Phoenix Suns on Monday.

A 40-point first quarter gave the Suns a breakaway start in the fourth-worst
loss in Kings history. It marked the sixth time this season the Kings have
lost by 30 or more points and the 12th time they've lost by 20 or more.

"It was embarrassing to lose like that," Kings point guard Beno Udrih said.

The Kings' most recent attempt to right their sinking ship came during
Wednesday's practice as Natt said he tinkered with the team's offense in
hopes of further simplifying things. The key, Natt said, is slowing things
down to avoid breakdowns when players aren't sure where they need to be.

Theus wanted up-tempo basketball. Hawes said the Kings likely will continue
to tinker until something takes.

"You have to keep playing with it until you get it right and until you get a
little more rhythm with it," the second-year center said.

Natt said one benefit of slowing down the offense is his team spends less
time on defense, a Kings weakness this season. Phoenix became the 12th
consecutive Kings opponent to score 100 or more points.

The Kings rank 29th in the NBA in points allowed (108.8 average), ahead of

league defensively.

"It's tough," said Udrih, who is among the Kings struggling the most. "All
the guys, we expected more from (ourselves) this season. Sometimes it just
doesn't go the way we want it to go. You can't give up. It's a waste of time.
Why are you here if you are just giving up? You have to go out there and play
hard."

And moving forward, Natt said, begins with forgetting Monday's rout as the
Kings prepare for the Utah Jazz on Friday. Natt said the Suns game was
painful enough that he didn't need to remind his players.

"We had all day (Tuesday) to think about it," Natt said. "As coaches, we
