[外電] Kings notes: Sloan happy Natt got his chance

Utah Jazz coach Jerry Sloan's advice was simple.
教皇給的建議很簡單

"You have to be who you are," Sloan said when asked what kind of advice he
dispensed to Kings interim coach Kenny Natt. "You can't be someone else."
「你必須去做自己，你不是別人」當教皇被問到要給Natt什麼樣的建議時說。

Natt, who spent nine seasons as an assistant under Sloan, said he studied
under the best. Sloan said he remembers Natt as a hard worker and that he
wishes the first-time head coach the best in his current opportunity.

The two faced each other for the first time as head coaches Friday night at
Arco Arena.

"It was pretty nice looking down there and seeing Sloan stomping, and I
didn't have to grab him for once," Natt said. "He congratulated me on a great
effort, and I told him he stole one from me.

"He's like a stepfather to me. He brought me up in this league."

Sloan said he was happy for Natt to have been given an opportunity with the
Kings.

"I know it has to be a tough situation to go into, but that's how you get a
chance to move on," Sloan said.

Sloan got his start in Utah early in the 1988-89 season, when he was promoted
from assistant to head coach. The Jazz finished the season 40-25 under Sloan,
but the first nine games were a challenge as the team went 3-6.

Sloan didn't, however, have to motivate his team following a 48-point loss,
as Natt was doing after the Kings fell to the Phoenix Suns on Monday.

"I don't know if we had that (big of a loss), but our first trip back East,
we lost every game," Sloan said. "People got restless then."

Kings center, who already missed three games, will miss the next three as
well and will be re-evaluated next week.
大米左臀部扭傷，他已經缺席三場，預計還要再缺席三場，下禮拜將會再評估。

Rookie hopes to stay – It's impossible to ignore trade rumors as they heat
up in February, but Kings rookie forward Jason Thompson said he's attempting
to turn a deaf ear.
不可能去忽略越演越烈的乳摸，但小湯說他試著不去聽。

"You try not to (listen), because you want to focus on getting better and
helping the team out," Thompson said. "I'd be lying if I said you don't hear
things, and I'm sure when guys hear stuff and hear their names being talked
about in trades, it bothers them."
「你試著不去聽，因為你想要專心在變得更好和幫助球隊上，如果我告訴你沒有聽到什
麼，就是我在騙你。我確定當人們聽到他們的名字被牽扯在交易中，會感到很困擾」小湯
說。

But that doesn't stop Thompson from hoping his name isn't out there. He said
he wants to see the Kings through their struggles.
但那並不會讓小湯停止希望他可以留在國王。他說他想要看著國王渡過難關。

"I'm trying to be here for a long time," Thompson said. "Success is coming
close, and I want to be a part of that. I want to talk to you (reporters) and
say, 'I remember having those ups and downs and being frustrated my rookie
year, but look at us now.' "

說，我試得這些高低潮，但現在請看看我們」小湯說。

→ eliczone:到期日趕快來 是橫是豎都已經塵埃落定 不會搞成這個樣子
推 BeStronger:大米比較適合拿來交易，至少他還算有一定實力，要拜託
→ BeStronger:別人吃KT，恐怕要損失新秀或選秀權，我不喜歡:(
