Andres Nocioni was not eager to talk about that missed shot. He finally
relented after Thursday's practice.

"The shot was terrible," Nocioni said of his open 19-foot baseline jumper
that sailed over the rim with 6.9 seconds remaining against the Oklahoma City
Thunder on Tuesday at Arco Arena and would have tied the score 97-97. The
Kings lost 99-98.

"I don't know what I did," he said. "It was a crazy shot. I was surprised for
it to be so long. I'm a little frustrated over that. I don't need this kind
of shot in my career."

Nocioni, who played impressively on both ends of the floor leading up to the
airball, said he agreed with Kings interim coach Kenny Natt that being wide
open might have contributed to the miss.

"I was so alone with no one there and said, 'OK, I'm going to shoot,' and I
hesitated less than one second, and that's it," he said.

Nocioni, who has been starting at small forward, played a game-high 44
minutes against the Thunder, scoring 16 points on 7-of-17 shooting with seven
rebounds. His tenacity should come in handy tonight as the Kings face the
Cleveland Cavaliers at Arco.

physical defense. According to numerous reports, Boston tried to obtain
Nocioni after he was traded to the Kings. The Celtics wanted an agitator to
guard James if the teams meet in the playoffs.

Injury update – Kevin Martin and Spencer Hawes will play tonight. Martin
(sprained left ankle) and Hawes (bruised left knee) sat out practice
