Kings Top Lakers in Preseason Finale
LAS VEGAS, Oct. 24 (Ticker) -- Kobe Bryant's second preseason
game showed that he has a long way to go to reaching his top
form.
Bryant struggled to make 3-for-10 shots for six points in 23
minutes as the Los Angeles Lakers closed the exhibition
schedule with a 93-87 loss to the Sacramento Kings.
Before the game, Bryant took the microphone and addressed the
sellout crowd at the Thomas & Mack Center, thanking the fans
for supporting him in his public legal issues.
The 25-year-old superstar missed his first shot on the game's
first possession and had trouble with his legs throughout the
night. His best play came on a pass to Shaquille O'Neal for a
dunk midway through the first quarter.
Bryant, coming off offseason knee surgery, played sparingly in
the second half. He had his knees iced in the third quarter and
walked gingerly through the tunnel at game's end. He indicated
after the game that he is trying to gain his conditioning and
expects to be at 100 percent in December.
O'Neal collected 19 points and 14 boards and Derek Fisher netted
16 points. Gary Payton scored 14 points and Karl Malone finished
with eight points, five assists and five rebounds.
Peja Stojakovic scored 18 points for Sacramento, which led the
entire second half. Reserve Bobby Jackson led a second-quarter
surge and finished with 17 points.
Los Angeles finished a 3-5 preseason and opens the 2003-04 season
on Tuesday at the STAPLES Center against Dallas. The Kings split
eight exhibition contests and will host rookie LeBron James and
the Cleveland Cavaliers in the season opener on Wednesday.

All the Lakers starters sat on the bench for much of the fourth
quarter after the Kings opened up a 74-58 third quarter lead. But
, with reserves playing for both teams, the Lakers went on a 15-0
run to close to within a point before a 3-pointer by Anthony
Peeler broke the Kings' scoreless drought with 7:28 left.
The Kings, playing without injured Chris Webber and Vlade Divac,
more than held their own against the All-Star cast of Lakers, who
sometimes seemed to have trouble figuring out who should be where
on the court.
After Stojakovic hit a 3-pointer in the first minute of the second
half to give the Kings a 55-45 lead, a miffed Phil Jackson called
a quick timeout to school his team on defense.
It was the second loss in two nights for the Lakers, who didn't have
all four of their superstars on the floor at one time until Thursday
night's loss to the Clippers. The Lakers finished the preseason 3-5,
while the Kings ended it 4-4.

湖人球星 Kobe Bryant 今天(25日)再度在熱身賽中現身，但 Kobe 的身手似
乎還未調整回往日巔峰的狀態。此役 Bryant 上場23分鐘，10次投籃僅命中3
球，全場僅有6分、6籃板進帳。湖人也以87比93敗在國王之手。
湖人當家中鋒 Shaquille O'Neal 今天有19分、14籃板的雙十表現， Derek
Fisher 奉上16分，「手套」Gary Payton 貢獻14分，「郵差」Karl Malone
則有8分、5籃板、5助攻進帳。
國王陣營方面，射手 Peja Stojakovic 表現依舊活躍，全場三分球命中率50
%，轟下全隊最高的18分。Bobby Jackson 也有17分進帳。即使 Vlade Divac
