Francis Powers Rockets Past Kings
SACRAMENTO, Oct. 14 (Ticker) -- Steve Francis looks like he is in
midseason form.
Francis played 40 minutes, scored 29 points and shot 8-for-22 from
the field to lead the Houston Rockets to an 82-78 preseason victory
over the Sacramento Kings.
Yao Ming added 17 points and seven rebounds for Houston, which played
without Eddie Griffin, Adrian Griffin, Cuttino Mobley, Maurice Taylor
and Eric Piatkowski.
Kelvin Cato pulled down 13 rebounds to go with six points and former
King Jim Jackson collected nine points in his return to Sacramento.
Gerald Wallace, who is making a bid for a regular role off the
Sacramento bench, helped his cause with 15 points and 15 rebounds.
Wallace had a spectacular dunk in the third quarter, taking off
from the right side of the foul line. But it could not change the
momentum of the game, which was firmly in Houston's control.
Peja Stojakovic led the Kings with 16 points but made just 6-of-17
shots. Sacramento shot just 33 percent (29-for-88), while Houston
shot 37 percent (26-for-71).
Doug Christie sat out for the Kings.

火箭主戰後衛Steve Francis今天(15日)大發神威，上場40分鐘，雖然22次
出手僅命中8球，卻攻下全場最高的29分，還送出5次助攻、抓下4顆籃板。
Francis 勇猛的進攻火力也幫助球隊以82比78擊敗國王。
除 Francis 表現亮眼外，「中國移動長城」姚明今天也替球隊貢獻了17分、
7籃板及2阻攻。但火箭陣中幾位要角 Eddie Griffin 、 Adrian Griffin 、
Cuttino Mobley、Maurice Taylor 及 Eric Piatkowski 都因傷或教練團的
決定而未出戰。 Kelvin Cato 抓下火箭全隊最多的13顆籃板，國王棄將 Jim
Jackson 今天也有9分進帳。
即使今天當先發得分後衛的 Gerald Wallace 有15分、15 籃板的雙十精采表
現，卻仍無法扭轉局勢，原任先發得分後衛 Doug Christie 今天只在場邊觀
戰。國王射手 Peja Stojakovic 以穩健表現拿下16分。
