Kings Notes: Where's Webber? Adelman isn't concerned

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Kings coach Rick Adelman said he hasn't been troubled
by the whereabouts of injured All-Star forward Chris Webber.

The coach is more concerned about when Webber will return to action than
whether he's at a game or not.
他比較關心 Webber 什麼時候可以回到球場比賽。
"I never talked to him about coming to any games," Adelman said of his
rehabilitating forward, who hasn't played in all 41 of the team's contests
this season. "He's usually at all the home games. He just happened to go
down there. He's going to spend the week and a half in L.A. rehabilitating
while we're on this trip."

Actually, Webber is expected to be in Michigan today, briefly announcing
the acquisition of a financial interest in the Grand Lakes franchise of
the Continental Basketball Association before he returns to Los Angeles.
"We played in L.A., and we left," Adelman said, shrugging off Webber's
absence at last Monday's game against the Clippers in L.A. after riding
there with the team on its charter. "I never talked to him about coming
to the game or whether he was coming to the game. I don't have a problem
with it.
"I didn't even think about it, to tell you the truth, until (Bee columnist
Mark) Kreidler wrote his article. I've got guys right here I'm trying to
think about. We won down there. We played Portland the next day, and I
hadn't really thought about whether or not he was sitting behind our bench
or he wasn't at that point."

Adelman said he expects Webber to practice Feb. 2 after the team returns
from this six-game trip.

"I assume he'll practice on that Monday because he didn't have
repercussions from the practices before," Adelman said of Webber, "so I
would hope that he's going to practicing and we can see what's happened
during that past week."
Adelman still isn't sure of a return date for Webber.

"I really don't know," the coach said. "Each week, we just see how he's
progressed, and there's no way you can make a decision until he tells you
how he feels and everything else. When we get back and he practices, we'll
see where he's at."

Dialing long distance -- Memphis shooting guard Mike Miller had a season-
high 27 points Friday night. He and point guard Jason Williams combined to
shoot 9 of 12 from three-point range as the Grizzlies hit a season-high
64.3 percent (9 of 14) from beyond the arc.
