Miller, Bibby Decree Victory for Kings
NEW ORLEANS, Dec. 18 (Ticker) -- Mike Bibby and the Sacramento Kings
spread the wealth early and often.
Bibby scored nine of his 19 points in the first quarter as the Sacramento
Kings built an early double-digit lead en route to a 101-90 victory over
the New Orleans Hornets.
Sacramento never trailed after closing the opening period with an 18-5 tear
for a 29-17 advantage. Bibby led the running attack for the Kings, whose
final five baskets of the quarter came inside the paint.
"We played well the first half and they missed a ton of shots in the first
half," Sacramento coach Rick Adelman said. "We played well on offense the
whole game."
Former Hornet Brad Miller led Sacramento, scoring 14 of his 21 points in
the second half. Miller made 8-of-10 shots and just missed his third triple
-double of the season with 14 rebounds, nine assists and four blocks.
"I was just letting things come to me," Miller said. "What's great about
this team is that somebody gets it going, doing something at some point.
I never worry about getting numbers. Everything just comes and you keep
fighting."
The Kings placed six players in double figures, with Bobby Jackson adding
18 points off the bench. Sacramento shot a season-high 55 percent (37-of-
67) from the floor.
Bibby's jumper and a free throw by Doug Christie extended Sacramento's
lead to 50-35 at halftime. New Orleans shot only 36 percent in the first
half.
Baron Davis led the Hornets with 23 points on 9-of-23 shooting. Backcourt
mate David Wesley missed 10 of his first 11 shots and netted 12 points as
New Orleans lost its third straight.
The Hornets shot just 23 percent (7-of-31) from the arc.
"Our execution isn't very good," said Wesley, who made 2-of-7 from 3-point
land. "We've got to get back to setting screens, good shot selection and
good rhythm shots. We're shooting a lot of threes and they are not going
in, and that's costing us games."
Peja Stojakovic's 3-pointer gave Sacramento its largest lead at 62-37 with
8:22 left in the third quarter. The Kings were ahead by double digits the
entire second half.

儘管國王主力控衛 Mike Bibby 今天(19日)的得分、籃板甚至助攻表現都非全隊之冠
，但全場拿下19分的他在第一節就貢獻 9分，幫助國王在第一節結束時取得兩位數的
領先優勢並一直領先到比賽結束，最終以101比90射下黃蜂。
比賽一開始黃蜂先馳得點，並由 Baron Davis 一口氣先連拿4分，但 Bibby 在第一
節後半帶領球隊反擊，殺出一波18比5的攻勢，助國王在第一節結束時取得29比17的
領先優勢，而黃蜂也從此以後一路落後至比賽結束。
如果說 Bibby 是國王進攻的啟動機，今天斬獲21分、14籃板並傳出9次助攻，差點拿
下「大三元」的 Brad Miller就是負責穿針引線的重要功臣，而且他在下半場貢獻了
14分，穩住國王領先的陣腳。
除 Bibby 及 Miller 外，國王陣中還有其他四名球員得分到達兩位數，「最佳第六
人」Bobby Jackson攻得18分，頭號射手 Peja Stojakovic 拿下17分，Vlade Divac
與 Doug Christie 也各有10分進帳。
此役國王團隊投籃命中率高達55.2%，勝過黃蜂的40.2%一籌，加上全隊傳出30次助攻
，團隊攻勢相當流暢，並一度領先多達24分，讓黃蜂只能望其項背。
黃蜂頭號戰將 Davis 今天飆進23分，還外加6助攻、3抄截，但全場23次出手僅命中9
球，投籃準度實在有待加強。先發中鋒 Jamaal Magloire獻上15分、13籃板，同樣拿
下15分的 P.J. Brown 則有8籃板入袋。
