Kings Hold On for Win Over Jazz
SALT LAKE CITY, Uta., Dec. 12 (Ticker) -- Mike Bibby and the Sacramento
Kings continued their dominance of the Utah Jazz.
Bibby scored 25 points to lift the Kings to a 100-93 victory over the
Jazz, their eighth straight regular-season win at the Delta Center.
"They're a tough team. Even though they're young, they're still tough,"
Bibby said. "They play hard and that's all you can really ask."
Utah has not beaten Sacramento at home since April 19, 2000. Bibby hasn't
lost a regular-season game at the Delta Center since joining Sacramento
before the 2000-01 season.
"I can only speak personally and I know that I wasn't intimidated," Jazz
forward Matt Harpring said. "This is the NBA, we've got to grow up, we've
got to play, we've got to play hard."
Peja Stojakovic scored 24 points and Bobby Jackson added 22 off the bench
for the Kings, who have won three in a row and eight of nine.
Raja Bell led Utah with 17 points while Matt Harpring and DeShawn Stevenson
each had 13.
Bell's jumper with 2:55 remaining gave Utah a 87-86 lead, but the Kings
closed the game with a 14-6 run.
"We broke down a little bit on the defensive end," Harpring said. "They're
a good team, and when we have a little mistake on defense they really
exploit it, and that's what makes them a good team."
Utah guard Carlos Arroyo returned to the starting lineup after missing
eight games with an ankle injury but had just two points in 16 minutes.
Rookie Raul Lopez picked up the slack with seven points and seven assists
in 28 minutes.
The Jazz outplayed the Kings in the paint, outrebounding them, 45-38, and
outscoring them, 46-36. Andrei Kirilenko and Greg Ostertag were major
contributors inside. Kirilenko scored 12 points and grabbed 10 rebounds
while Ostertag had 11 and 12.
Sacramento overcame Utah's edge inside with superior ballhandling. The
Kings committed just four turnovers and passed for 19 assists.
"We handled the ball well," Kings coach Rick Adelman said. "But if there
is anything I am disappointed with, I don't think we defended as well
as we need to defend if we are going to win on the road."
Utah led 35-32 with 6:47 left in the second, but Sacramento went on a
9-2 run to build a 41-37 cushion and held a 45-42 halftime advantage even
though Stojakovic was held scoreless.
"I was awful in the first half," Stojakovic said. "I don't know what was
wrong ... a couple of shots I took, I thought they were good shots."

爵士主場是有名的難打，但國王今天(十三日)能在Delta Center贏球，與其說是靠得
分轟垮對手，倒不如說是爵士自亂陣腳。在全場29犯規、16失誤的情況下，爵士以93
比100遭到國王狙擊。
爵士這場比賽打的「有頭有尾」，第一與第四節皆領先國王各一、二分，但二、三兩
節國王打出23-19、27-21的攻勢，勝負就此決定。
爵士此役團隊命中率高達五成零六，且有六人得分兩位數；籃板多七個(45-38)、助攻
也多六次(25-19)，但失誤卻多對手十二次(16-4)、犯規也多十一次(29-18)，讓爵士
獲得較多的投籃機會(84-79)與罰球機會(25-17)，罰球國王投進二十二球，爵士十一
球。
國王全隊四人得分兩位數，Peja Stojakovic的二十四分八籃板、Mike Bibby二十五分
六籃板、板凳Bobby Jackson的二十二分五籃板表現最佳；爵士攻勢平均但多人受到犯
規限制無法盡展身手，Andrei Kirilenko十二分十籃板、Greg Ostertag十一分十二籃
板有不俗演出。另外Carlos Arroyo自從腳踝扭傷之後此役歸隊，十六分鐘出賽裡雖只
得兩分但有送出四次助攻。
國王獲勝之後取得最近三連勝，目前十五勝五敗僅次於湖人的十八勝四敗，在太平洋
組穩居第二；爵士輸球後目前以十二勝十敗落後灰熊半場、馬刺一場，排名一下掉到
中西組最後一位。
