"It may have been our worst game offensively all (season)," Adelman said
after his team's four-game winning streak was halted, "and you give the
Spurs credit. They were good defensively. We just tried to do too much
on our own. There was a lot of attacking one side (of the court) or one-
on-one, and that doesn't make us the team we are.
"I told the team after the game, 'You have got to learn from wins and
losses, and this loss is a really good lesson for us against a very good
team that we didn't play well offensively against."
Sacramento shot just 30 of 81 (37 percent).
"They help each other," guard Mike Bibby said when asked what made the
Spurs (34-18) such a good defensive team. "When you go to the basket,
there are always people there to make you pass the ball out."
When you're unable to make shots as the Kings were, that makes for a long
and frustrating evening.
Stojakovic finished with 20 to match Vlade Divac and Bibby but only after
scoring seven late points.
Bowen's tight defense left Stojakovic wearing a game-long look of
frustration and forced the All-Star into a 6-for-18 shooting night
in 44 minutes.
"I believe we had a lot of good looks," Stojakovic said, "but maybe we
didn't move the ball as much as we should have."
San Antonio made 14 of its first 20 field-goal attempts and added a
smothering, physical defense. Sacramento was unable to get consistent
open looks and trailed by 14 points twice in the first.
The Kings began to eat away at San Antonio's lead toward the end of the
quarter as their reserves entered the game and brought tougher defense
with them.
Bobby Jackson, Anthony Peeler and Tony Massenburg also made their presence
felt on the offensive end. Massenburg had five points and seven rebounds
in just nine minutes in the first half and helped hold down Duncan, who
scored all eight of his first-half points in the game's first 10 minutes.
Sacramento used a 10-3 run midway through the second quarter to pull
within 38-35 and maintain contact with the Spurs. The Kings narrowed
the gap to 44-43 with 42 seconds left in the first half on a Bibby
three-pointer but couldn't grab the lead and trailed 45-43 at the half.

San Antonio was the only NBA team to win twice at Sacramento last season.
"I have no idea why we are winning here," Spurs guard Tony Parker said.
"Maybe its our defense that bothers them a little bit."
Parker kept San Antonio in front during the first half, scoring 17 of his
20 points. Duncan took over after halftime, scoring 20 points as the Spurs
gradually built a double-digit lead and held on to hand the Kings their
fourth home loss of the season.
"I tried to be more aggressive in the second half," said Duncan, who had
eight first-half points. "I was settling for too many outside shots in the
first half."
Bruce Bowen contributed 14 points, and his defense made things difficult
for Peja Stojakovic, who shot 6-of-18 and scored 20 points.
"They didn't shoot the ball well, that doesn't happen much to the Kings,"
Parker said. "This win is huge for our confidence, to beat the team with
the league's best record."
Manu Ginobili scored eight points during the first half of the fourth
quarter when the Spurs opened their largest lead, 93-75.
Ginobili scored 15 points and former King Hedo Turkoglu had 13 points in
his return to Arco Arena.
Vlade Divac and Mike Bibby also had 20 points for the Kings. Brad Miller
had 12 points and 11 rebounds, and Anthony Peeler also scored 12.
Game notes
The Kings honored Nate "Tiny" Archibald, one of seven players in franchise
history to have his number retired. ... San Antonio opened the game making
14 of its first 20 shots (70 percent) and led 32-21 after one quarter.
California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger watched the game from a skybox. ...
The Kings stayed in the game by making 15 of 18 free throws in the fourth
quarter.

The Kings have the best home record in the NBA at 22-4 but they have
trouble winning here against the Spurs, who have won their last three
visits to Arco Arena. They are the only team in the NBA that has not
lost at Arco Arena since the start of last season.
The Kings outscored the Spurs from the line, 28-14, but failed to make
shots until the fourth quarter. They pulled within 96-90 with 1:40 left,
but San Antonio's Robert Horry sealed it with a 3-pointer from the top
of the key with 85 seconds to go.
這邊提到了 Horry 的三分球,唉呀,恩怨情仇又添一筆 XD
