Nuggets, Anthony Crush Kings in Win
DENVER, Nov. 1 (Ticker) -- Carmelo Anthony finally found his shooting
touch.
Anthony scored 23 points on 9-of-14 shooting to lead the Denver Nuggets
to a 109-88 victory over the Sacramento Kings, who suffered their first
loss of the season.
"My first two games, I was anxious to get out there," Anthony said. "Now
I am settling down."
The third overall pick in the 2003 draft and the centerpiece in a massive
rebuilding project, Anthony shot just 31% from the field in his first two
games, which were split by the Nuggets.
Peja Stojakovic guarded Anthony for most of the game and was impressed
with the rookie's performance.
"He played good," Stojakovic said. "He is very skilled. He did some good
things in the paint and was good at penetrating. We allowed him some easy
buckets off long rebounds, but he played real well."
Voshon Lenard added 15 points while Chris Andersen and Rodney White
added 12 apiece for Denver. Andersen also had 11 rebounds while Marcus
Camby led Denver with 12 and 10 points.
"Their guys played better than ours," Kings coach Rick Adelman said.
"They outplayed us, they outhustled us. Don't take anything away from
Denver. They were pushing the ball and being aggressive. We've got to
be a little bit smarter."
Stojakovic led Sacramento with 19 points but made just 7-of-18 shots.
Mike Bibby added 15 points and 10 assists but was 6-of-15 as Sacramento
shot an uncharacteristic 36 percent (33-of-91).
The Kings had shot better than 50 percent in their first two games but
were held to just 10 points in the final period.
"We did not play good basketball," said Kings forward Vlade Divac, who
finished with just six points and two rebounds in 20 minutes.
Brad Miller was the only other King in double figures with 13 points.
Denver's 14 blocked shots contributed to Sacramento's poor shooting.
Andersen blocked a career-high seven shots and Camby rejected three.
"Our guys did a great job tonight," Nuggets coach Jeff Bzdelik said.
"We had the tempo the way we wanted it. Like I said the other night,
it was a great win, against a great team, with a great crowd."
The Nuggets shot well, hitting 49 percent (42-of-86) as they placed
seven players in double figures. They had 56 points in the paint and
24 fast-break points.
"San Antonio and Houston are hard teams to run on," Bzdelik said.
"Our wings ran hard tonight. It's easy to say we should run all the
time, but it is harder to run than it is not to."

Anthony找回手感 金塊撂倒國王

來自雪城大學的「超級新鮮人」Carmelo Anthony今天(2日)終於找回投籃的感覺。
Anthony在今天的金塊、國王之戰中，14次出手命中9球，不但拿下全場最高的23分
，還抓下6顆籃板、送出5次助攻，幫助球隊以109:88擊敗國王，讓國王嚐到新賽季
的首敗。
Anthony說：「前兩場比賽我有點興奮過頭，現在我已經冷靜下來，準備專心迎接
NBA的挑戰。」前兩場比賽Anthony的投籃命中率僅31%，但在這場比賽中儼然已有
金塊第一得分手的架式。
就連國王當家射手Peja Stojakovic也稱讚Anthony的表現。Stojakovic說：「我必
須承認Anthony 真是一位優秀的球員。他擁有過人的技巧，禁區作戰、單刀突破的
功夫都相當犀利，未來將是一位可怕的對手。」拿下19分的Stojakovic仍是國王全
隊得分最高的球員，而且他還抓下6籃板。
而除Anthony外，Voshon Lenard貢獻15分、4助攻，Chirs Andersen (12分、11籃
板)與Marcus Camby(10分、12籃板)各有雙十表現。此役金塊的團隊投籃、三分球
及罰球命中率都優於國王，而且還送給國王球員14 顆麻辣火鍋，最後才能順利擊
敗這支西區勁旅。
國王當家控衛Mike Bibby有15分、10籃板的雙十表現，Brad Miller也有13分、12
籃板進帳，而老將中鋒 Vlade Divac只得到6分、2籃板，還發生4次失誤。賽後，
Divac就自責地說：「我們在這場比賽的表現實在太差勁！」
