Houston Edges Stojakovic in Stellar Shootout
NEW YORK, Nov. 7 (Ticker) -- Allan Houston narrowly emerged as the victor
in his shootout with Peja Stojakovic.
Houston poured in 16 of his season-high 39 points in the fourth quarter
as the New York Knicks rallied for a 114-111 victory over the Sacramento
Kings.
New York notched its first home win behind the hot shooting of Houston,
who made 6-of-8 shots in the final period. He sank a pair of free throws
with 1.3 seconds remaining for the final margin.
Stojakovic poured in 36 points for Sacramento, which has lost seven
straight at Madison Square Garden. The Kings' demise was their inability
to defend Houston, who scored 35 points in Wednesday's loss to Milwaukee.
Houston pumped in eight points during an 18-2 tear, capping it with a
3-pointer for a 98-93 lead with just over six minutes left. He nailed
a pair of clutch jumpers down the stretch, including one over former
Knick Doug Christie for a 110-106 advantage with 33 seconds to go.
Stojakovic answered with a long 3-pointer and New York's Dikembe Mutombo
sank a pair at the line with 4.8 seconds to go. The Knicks fouled
Sacramento's Mike Bibby, who made two free throws with 1.9 seconds left.
After Houston's last two free throws, the Kings failed to get off a shot
as time expired.

尼克老將射手Allan Houston今天(8日)火力全開，全場22次出手命中13球，三分球
4投2中，轟下本季個人最高的39分，而且他在關鍵的第四節貢獻了16分，幫助球隊
在自家地盤以114比111力克國王。另外，Houston還有6籃板、2助攻進帳。
尼克教練團相當注視這次主場比賽的勝利，他們當然也相當讚許 Houston 的表現。
Houston 在第四節的8次出手命中6球，而且在最後1.3秒兩罰俱中，絕對是尼克取勝
的關鍵角色。
雖然國王當家射手Peja Stojakovic替球隊轟下36分的江山，但也因擋不住Houston
兇猛的炮火，國王最後才連續七次在尼克主場斷魂。此役國王全隊只抓下29顆籃板
，與尼克的47顆相距甚遠，成為比賽勝敗的主要關鍵。國王主力控衛Mike Bibby攻
下19分，Doug Christie則是有12分、9助攻進帳。
尼克陣營方面，除了Houston火力十足外，Keith Van Horn (20分、13籃板)、Kurt
Thomas(17分、14籃板)與Charlie Ward(13分、13助攻)也都繳出雙十成績單，都是
尼克最後能夠驚險獲勝的功臣。
