Jon Brockman never knows exactly when he'll be needed.
洛克人從來不知道他什麼時候會被需要。
Sometimes it's early in a game. Other times, such as in Tuesday's loss to
Phoenix, Brockman plays most of the second half.

The only constant has been a rise in intensity when Brockman steps on the
floor.

Though his minutes fluctuate, Brockman is showing the more he plays, the more
likely he'll grab a lot of rebounds and annoy the opposition.

"I just have the same mind-set," Brockman said. "Wherever I can help,
whenever they need me to play … It's tough. It could be the first quarter;

Brockman played 23 minutes Tuesday against the Suns. Nineteen were in the
second half, when he grabbed six of his eight rebounds.

The rookie from Washington had played just 24 minutes total in the previous
three games.

"He did a great job out there of just being physical, trying to mix it up out
there on the basketball court," said Suns forward Amar'e Stoudemire. "For the
most part, we really didn't expose him.

One of the reasons Brockman picks up fouls is he's constantly moving.
Sometimes that causes him to collide – even violently – with opponents.

When you're 6-foot-7 and playing against much taller players, Brockman must
be physical.

"It's different because guys are stronger (than in college)," Brockman said.
"A lot of times, you've got to work a little harder at it. You've got to take
your licks a few more times, I think, but it's unbelievable how much of it is
playing with your lower body. So much of it is just leverage and getting
position."

And Brockman's energy is infectious. The Kings were off to a slow start
against the Suns when Brockman entered the game in the first half. Sacramento
outscored Phoenix by 10 in the second half.

According to plus/minus statistics, Brockman makes the most of his time on
the floor. The Kings are plus-42 when Brockman plays, second only to Sergio
Rodríguez (plus-83) on the team.

Brockman averages 11 minutes and four rebounds.

"He is really carving out more playing time for himself by the results," said
Kings coach Paul Westphal. "Our team is playing better when he's on the
floor, and it's noticeable."

Brockman frustrated the Los Angeles Lakers on Dec. 26 with his tenacity.

fend off Brockman for a rebound last Saturday.

Kings forward Jason Thompson said Brockman's activity forces opponents to
focus on him and opens up room in the paint for Thompson to rebound.

"It is good to see other people have to deal with the Brock Ness Monster
rather than myself (in practice)," Thompson said. "When you hear out there
other opponents' bigs complaining about him, you know that he's doing his
job."

抱怨他的時候，你知道他開始了」小湯說。
At this rate, Westphal might be inclined to let Brockman do his job more
regularly, noting it's "getting easier and easier" to let Brockman play at
critical stages of games.

"Brockman is somebody who probably has been underestimated his whole life
because he doesn't necessarily fit the prototype," Westphal said. "But I
think we're learning more and more it's not wise to underestimate him."
