Opening comments regarding Douby:
開始先評論Douby這個人:
"I'm really excited to announce that today with the 19th pick the Kings
selected Quincy Doubyfrom Rutgers, a 6-3 combo guard who was the leading
scorer in the Big East this year. He's a very exciting player and I think
he'll bring a lot of excitement to the team and the arena.
I think you'll find him an enjoyable young man to deal with and watch play."
我非常高興宣佈今天我們用第19順位選到來自Rutgers 6-3的雙能衛Quincy Douby
他可是今年Big East的得分好手啊
他是對比賽非常有熱情的球員我想他會為這個球隊及廠館注入許多活力
你們會從比賽中慢慢發現他的好的
"He can handle the ball, he can make some plays, he can get his own shot,
and he can make plays for other people. I think he'll be complimentary to
a lot of the other players we have."
他可以控球，可以組織，可以自幹….喔不對是自上，他能使隊友更有所發揮
我想他將會和隊上其他許多球員相處融洽
On selected Douby ahead of a player left on the board such as Marcus Williams:
對於為什麼沒選Marcus Williams這種普遍認為選秀身價較前面的球員:
"Marcus Williams is a fine player, but the thinking there is that we feel
Quincy has some point guard skills as well. He can play off the ball and
with Ron and Cisco (Francisco Garcia) we have other ball handlers out there."
Marcus Williams是好球員 但 我們的想法是: Douby也能控球啊!
而且隊上也有其他人可以分擔控球 阿泰跟Garcia就可以啊
Regarding Head Coach Eric Musselman's involvement in the draft process:
肌肉男總教練在這次選秀中參與度有多少哩?
"Eric was very, very involved along with the rest of the coaching staff so
it was a group decision."
肌肉男包括整個教練團都很投入這次的選秀 所以(選Douby)這是個團隊的決定
Talking about how the staff arrived at the decision to choose Douby:
說說為什麼你們最後決定要選Douby啊?
"We had a group of about three or four players we were looking at and he was
one of them. We clearly felt that he was the most talented and most complete
player in terms of the way the NBA games in played and in terms of where we
took him. I think if you noticed in this draft after our pick at 19, every
other pick behind that was a small player except for Josh Boone, so you had
basically ten 1s or 2s taken in that latter part of the draft.
If you look back at the history of the draft, your best
chance to get a high quality player where we picked is to take a smaller
player."
我們的團隊一直有著三四個中意的球員
我們明顯的感覺到Douby是這當中最有才華且能一上nba即有所貢獻的即戰力
如果你去注意在我們19順位後第一輪剩下的選秀
剩下每一隊都嘛選小後衛，籃網那個Josh Boone算例外，剩下後半段的選秀就有
差不多十個1,2號球員被選走
如果你回顧nba選秀歷史 像我們這種選秀順位(19th)最好還是選小後衛比較保險
Responding to a question regarding Douby's defensive prowess:
Douby的防守到底行不行啊?
"Just about every rookie that comes into the league has some defensive
adjustments and a learning curve that they have to make.
In that regard he won't be an exception, but there hasn't been a
defensive stopper that has come into the league in their first year.
With that said, he's adequate defensively."
像每個rookie一樣剛進聯盟一定有許多在防守上該改進學習的部份
Douby當然也不例外 但我們並不需要他第一年進聯盟就成為隊上大鎖
(我們還有阿泰哩)
所以說他目前防守還算及格啦(未來再加強吧)
On how he'll complement Mike Bibby:
Douby要如何和Bibby組雙BY哩:
"Some teams are having success playing two small guards in their backcourt
for fairly significant portions of the game. Dallas (Mavericks) have
Devin Harris and Jason Terry, New Orleans did it with
Speedy Claxton and Chris Paul, and you're seeing more and more of that in
terms of being able to get a more mobile and quicker team out there that
handles the ball and has a lot of scoring potential as well."
