Donté Greene took the ball on the right wing midway through the second
quarter against Golden State, peeked at the rim and looked as if he just
might fire away.

But the Kings small forward didn't, and instead found Spencer Hawes with an
entry pass down low that led to an interior dish to Jason Thompson and an
uncontested dunk in Saturday's 101-94 victory at Arco Arena.

former coaches Reggie Theus and Kenny Natt, and is threatening his role again
with Westphal. That much was clear in Tuesday's practice, when an ill-advised
fadeaway three-pointer led to a candid warning from Westphal about the damage
Greene was doing to his standing.

Then two days later, Greene didn't play for the second consecutive game as
the Kings lost to the Lakers in Las Vegas. Greene, who took 100 threes in 236
overall attempts last season and hit just 26 percent from beyond the arc,
insists he is hearing the message.

Greene played a more controlled game against the Warriors, logging 10
minutes, taking just one shot and grabbing two rebounds. With Golden State's
smaller lineup, he played some small forward and power forward and saw
firsthand the benefits of focusing more on his defense than his scoring.

the draft process in June, his workout against Davidson's Stephen Curry was

Evans' length gave Curry serious trouble offensively, and Curry could hardly
stop the Memphis product defensively either. Yet in the rematch, Warriors

7-of-14 shooting with three assists while Curry had six points and four
assists.
