There are times when Kenny Thomas uses his position as the longest-tenured
NBA player on the Kings' roster to have some fun.
很多時候KT擺老的時候會滿有趣的。

If rookies take too long with post-practice interviews, Thomas might emerge
with playful heckling to remind the younger Kings to hurry up.
如果菜鳥們練習後訪問太久，KT就會用趣味的方式提醒他們快一點。

But Thomas really likes this season's young Kings, and he's glad to share his
knowledge with them.
但KT真的很喜歡這季的年輕國王，他很開心可以和他們分享他的知識。

"It's a great opportunity to have young guys that actually want to listen,"
Thomas said. "I've been around a minute now; this is my 11th year. They're
doing a great job of listening; it's just a matter of them consistently
taking it in, going out on the court and using it."

More than in the last two seasons, Thomas is getting a chance to show what he
can do on the court.

Kings coach Paul Westphal relies on Thomas to defend tough post players and
has credited him more than once with good defense in victories.

"He's had success playing defense against bigger guys, post-up players, for
quite a while in this league," Westphal said. "Experience does mean a lot."

Thomas also is averaging five rebounds this season, which is good considering
he plays just 13 minutes a game.

"He's very explosive to the ball," Westphal said. "The ball's still got to
cooperate and go your way, but he goes and gets them, too."

After the Kings finished 29th in total rebounding last season, any knowledge
Thomas can share with younger players is welcome.

Thomas noted chasing down loose balls has extended his career.

"It's one of the reasons I've been around so long," Thomas said. "I have a
tendency to rebound. It's a gift that God gave me. And I use my quickness."

Counting the turns – Westphal wasn't happy after the Kings lost Monday to
Memphis while committing 21 turnovers for the third time in four games.

But just because the ball goes off a player's hand and he's charged with a
turnover doesn't mean the coaching staff sees it the same way.

"We look at what happens, whose fault it is," Westphal said.

Home cooking – Wednesday's game against the New York Knicks was the first in
a four-game homestand.

Entering Wednesday, the combined record of the Kings' four opponents – New
York, New Jersey, New Orleans and Indiana – was 14-41 (.255). Three of those
opponents are from the Eastern Conference.
