Assistant Elie to run Kings during summer league
助教Elie操盤國王在夏季聯盟的比賽

Summer league is the time when head coaches sit back and allow an assistant
coach to run the show.
That means the Kings' entry in the NBA Summer League will get to know Mario
Elie very well.
Elie, in his second season as an assistant with the Kings, will be in charge
when they begin their three-day minicamp today at the team's practice
facility.
They will then travel to Las Vegas, where they will play six games in seven
days during the NBA Summer League. Elie began working with members of the
summer league team earlier this week. So far, he likes what he sees.
夏季聯賽西法將坐在一旁讓助理教練主導比賽。
這意味著大家在夏季聯賽將會對Mario Elie有更多認識。
擔任國王助理教練第二年的Elie負責球隊由今天開始為期三天的
小型訓練營。
之後球隊將移到拉斯維加斯參加夏季聯賽，七天內要打六場比賽，
Elie本週已經開始進行準備工作，目前他很高興球隊的狀況。
The Kings' two draft picks, DeMarcus Cousins and Hassan Whiteside, have
worked out with Elie. They have been joined by rookie guards Dionte
Christmas, Devan Downey, Sylven Landesberg and Donald Sloan.
Elie likes his roster and looks forward to working with the Kings' draft
choices. Cousins, he said, has been "amazing," while Whiteside has "a lot to
learn but a lot of upside."
"It's always an exciting time, especially when you've got a guy like DeMarcus
Cousins coming in," Elie said. "And hearing what was said about him makes me
sick. He's a pleasure to be around, and he wants to be good."
Cousins was dogged by questions about his maturity and attitude before last
month's draft, in which he went fifth overall to the Kings. Elie said
Cousins, 19, is a hard worker and continues to get into better shape.
Cousins will face Detroit Pistons forward Greg Monroe, the seventh overall
selection in the draft, on Monday.
"I'm excited for him to go against (Monroe) in his first NBA experience,"
Elie said. "(Monroe) is supposed to be one of the best big men in the draft
this year."
球隊近年選進的兩位新秀，表弟和白邊目前都已經和Eile一起訓練，
其他成員還有鋒線球員Dionte Christmas、Devan Downey、Sylven
Landesberg以及Donald Sloan。Elie滿意他的球隊陣容，期待和今
年的球隊新秀配合，談到表弟，他用「驚艷」兩字形容，而白邊雖
然還有很大的進步空間，但他也已經有非常大的進步。
Elie：「這總是讓我興奮，特別是當你陣中有表弟這樣的球員。另
外大家對表弟的質疑太過頭了，他是個很好相處的人，而且他想變
更好。」
在選秀之前，表弟受到許多關於態度的質疑，最終他在第五順位被
國王選中，Elie說十九歲的表弟透過努力訓練來把自己的狀態調整
到最好。
星期一表弟將對上活塞隊的夢蘿﹝#7﹞。
Elie：「我很想看他在生涯首場NBA比賽如何面對夢蘿，夢蘿也是
本屆選秀最好的長人之一。」
The minicamp is also a chance for two summer league veterans to get to know
their new teammates.
Omri Casspi had a good start to his rookie season after the Kings selected
him the first round in 2009.
After struggling in the summer league last year, Casspi was selected for the
Rookie-Sophomore Challenge during NBA All-Star Weekend but slumped in the
second half of the season amid concerns about his conditioning.
Donté Greene also struggled in the summer league last year but made strides
in his second season.
"We think that they both are young players who can use all the experience
they can get," Kings head coach Paul Westphal said. "We're looking for one or
both of those players to make a significant jump in their ability to
contribute next season."
這次短期訓練對另外兩位夏聯老鳥而言也是個認識新隊友的好機會。
去年新秀卡卡，新人年的表現不錯。
去年夏聯他打的不理想，但球季開始後的精采表現讓他入選明星週
的一二年級對抗賽，可惜下半季因為體力出問題而歸於平淡。
小綠去年夏聯也打的不好，但開季後他的表現有了大躍進。
西法：「我們認為他們都還年輕，這項賽事對他們很有幫助，另外
我們也在尋找一到兩名傑出的球員下季為球隊效力。」
