The Knicks didn't acquire Antoine Walker from Tuesday's expansion draft,
and they won't be in the running for Shaquille O'Neal.
But team president Isiah Thomas might dial up his old employer to check on
the availability of Al Harrington.

Harrington, a Roselle product and perfect backup for small forward Tim Thomas,
was close to Isiah Thomas when he coached the Pacers.
But Thomas relationship with Indiana president Larry Bird,
who fired Thomas, might prevent him from landing Harrington.

Thomas was trying to work a deal for Walker and Malik Rose,
neither of whom were selected by the expansion Charlotte Bobcats.
Thomas said nothing happened because the Bobcats didn't want "to take back
extra salaries."
For Walker, Thomas was offering a package that included Kurt Thomas,
and Othella Harrington or Dikembe Mutombo. The Knicks' president could
resume talks for Walker or Rose, with Dallas and San Antonio, respectively.
