Charleston, SC, October 12, 2005 -- The Knicks finished their nine day stay
at the College of Charleston Wednesday with a spirited practice. Head coach
Larry Brown left the city feeling encouraged over the nine day camp, his
longest ever. “I wish training camp could be longer, but it was a good camp,”
Brown said. “We still have a long way to go, and it's difficult because we
have so many young guys, but they all came to play everyday. The nine days
was a benefit for such a young team.” One of the young guys who Brown feels
stood out was rookie guard Nate Robinson. “I am pretty excited about Nate
Robinson - he can flat-out play and wants to learn. Nate does not appear
small because he's so athletic and he has already made our team better.”
Brown is looking forward to the Robinson-Marbury practice matchups making
both players better, and is anxious to see how Robinson does on Saturday
night in Bridgeport, Connecticut against New Jersey.
