Barber and George Invited to Training Camp
KNICKS SIGN TWO FREE AGENTS

NEW YORK, October 3, 2005 -- New York Knickerbockers President of
Basketball Operations Isiah Thomas announced today that guard Steven Barber
and forward Otis George have been signed as free agents. As per club
policy, terms of the deals are not announced.
Barber, 5-10, 160-pounds, is an NBA rookie who went undrafted after a
three-year collegiate career at Texas-Arlington and one year at South
Plains College in Levelland, TX. In 2002, the Sam Houston, TX-native
finished his UTA career as the school's fifth all-time leading scorer and
second in three-point field goals and was named All-Southland Conference
Player selection twice. In July of 2005, Barber was a member of the
Knicks' entry at the Reebok Vegas and Minnesota Summer Leagues, and
averaged 5.4 points and 11.3 minutes in eight games.
George, 6-8, 225-pounds, is an NBA rookie who went undrafted after a
four-year collegiate career at Louisville. As a senior in 2004-05, the
Roseau, Dominica-native averaged 5.5 points and 4.9 rebounds in 26 games.
In July of 2005, George was a member of the Knicks' entry at the Reebok
Vegas and Minnesota Summer Leagues, and appeared in nine games.
The Knicks training camp roster is now at 17.
