Van Horn, who had scored at least 20 points in four straight games, collected 19 and 10 rebounds to lead the Knicks to a 114-86 blowout of the Orlando Magic that capped a perfect three-game trip. Frank Williams and Allan Houston added 18 points apiece for New York, which posted wire-to-wire triumphs at Memphis on Friday and Miami on Saturday. Williams made 7-of-9 shots and matched his career-high point total, which he set against the Grizzlies. "He's doing an excellent job of pushing the ball up the floor," Knicks coach Don Chaney said. "And he has hit enough outside shots where the defense has to come out and play him, which opens it up for penetration inside." New York shot 55 percent (44-of-80) and limited Orlando to 34 percent (29-of-86). "We've been shooting really well lately and playing great defense," Van Horn said. "We've been getting open shots in transition and layups in transition, and that makes the rim that much bigger." "That was just a thorough beating that we received from New York," Magic coach Johnny Davis said. "We did not play well in any stretch of the imagination, in any way. Defensively, we were just not very good tonight and New York did all the right things in terms of making shots." Orlando superstar Tracy McGrady suffered a strained right hip late in the first quarter and did not return. McGrady, who did not score, is day-to-day. "The first couple minutes I saw him holding it a little bit and I asked him if he was OK, and he tried to work through it but informed me toward the latter part of the first quarter that he was unable to go," Davis said. " I could tell that something was bothering him, I just didn't know the extent of it, but I could tell something was bothering him out there." Houston gave New York the lead for good, 8-6, on a 3-pointer 4:19 into the contest. New York held a 10-9 edge before Williams, making his second career start, hit back-to-back three-pointers and made a layup to make it 18-9 with 4:46 left. The Knicks opened a 34-20 advantage after one period, took a 60-44 lead into the break and stretched the cushion to 92-64 entering the fourth quarter. New York rested its starters for the final period. "When you shoot the ball the way we have been shooting it lately, it definitely is going to create a cushion for you out there," said Knicks forward Kurt Thomas, who had 12 points. "We have been passing the ball to each other and having some fun out there. We have been on the road for a while, so it will be good to go home and get some good home cooking." Gordan Giricek scored 21 points, Juwan Howard added 18 and Drew Gooden 17 for Orlando, which has dropped back-to-back contests after winning four of five. "Even when (McGrady) was on the floor, we didn't bring it," Howard said. "From start to finish, we did not have any energy." -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 203.67.201.125
