不好意思(版大在師大期末考,小弟唸的政大剛好放溫書假...........
不好意思,貼一下老湯在記者會的發言,也安慰一下版主...........
畢竟失去上帝對我們來說是很傷的,以一個看了十年球的Knicks Fan....

Marbury, Hardaway and Trybanski to Knicks for McDyess, Ward, Eisley Lampe
Marbury Trade Points Way to Future(這是標題)
by Tom Kertes
New York, January 5, 2004 - The New York Knicks you will see tomorrow night
in Cleveland will not be your father's New York Knicks, or last week's
New York Knicks, or even yesterday's New York Knicks. Not after the
immensely impactful trade President of Basketball Operations Isiah Thomas
has completed today.
The Knicks acquired superstar point guard Stephon Marbury, along with
swingman Penny Hardaway and center Cezary Trybanski, from the Phoenix Suns
for point guards Charlie Ward and Howard Eisley, forwards Antonio McDyess
and Maciej Lampe, the draft rights to Milos Vujanic, and two future
first-round draft choices. Marbury, only 26 years old, was averaging
20.8 points per game this season and ranked second in assists (at 8.3 pg.)
in the NBA.
"This is a big day for the New York Knicks," said an elated-but-exhausted
Thomas who's been working on this deal non-stop for the past 36 hours.
"Marbury is one of the top players in the game today, probably one of the t
op 10. Yes, we were looking at the long term with him. But also, the last
couple of nights we've seen what Jason Kidd and Jamal Crawford were doing
to us. So we knew we had to improve at point guard -- it's the most important
position in the game."
Thomas, not so long ago a great point guard himself, expressed a profound
appreciation for what Marbury brings to the table. "When I look at Stephon,
I see a student of the game," he said. "I see someone who's worked extremely
hard at his craft, who's highly competitive, who plays the game the right way.
" "This is very close to hitting a home run," agreed Knicks coach Don Chaney. "
Over the years, we've been working hard trying to figure out how to get
a superstar point guard. They are very difficult to find -- and they are
the key to the success of a team." Thomas and Chaney both had high praise
for the gifted Hardaway as well. "He can play multiple positions, he'll
come in at both the 'two' and the 'three," said the coach.
"Penny has great ability," added Thomas. "He's had some injuries but he's
playing really well right now. He makes other players around him better.
We've acquired TWO playmakers."
"Also, we used to be overloaded at power forward -- but we have a
balanced team now with talent at every position," added Thomas.
"We have versatility," said Chaney.
" And, in my opinion, all good NBA teams must be versatile.
I could see Keith Van Horn playing some power forward now as well, with
Penny at the 'three', and Kurt (Thomas) at center at times when Dikembe
(Mutombo) is out of the game. We could have a huge advantage with that group,
with five shooters on the floor at the same time."
Chaney expects a brief and relatively easy adjustment period by
the new additions. "Those guys fit in very well with us," he said. "We want
to run and we do an awful lot of pick-and-rolls.
These two guys are excellent at that."
According to Thomas, Marbury -- a New Yorker who played at
Abraham Lincoln High School in Brooklyn -- was "very excited when he heard
about the trade.
It was like his dream come true. Any kid who grew up in the big City wants
to play in his hometown. Playing in the Garden, wearing the Knicks uniform...
he told me he couldn't be happier."
"We want to win an NBA championship," added Thomas. "Our challenge is
to be the best. These days, with the salary cap and everything, you don't get
many opportunities to get a player like Marbury. It's hard to make a trade.
What we did today will have a lasting effect on the New York Knicks.
So, yes, we want to get to the playoffs first. But our ultimate goal has to
be the championship."
Chaney gave all the credit for the potentially enormous trade to Thomas.
"Isiah came in very aggressive," said the coach. "I was shocked by his work
ethic -- he was on the phone literally from the moment he entered the building.
It's just unbelievable what he's accomplished in a short time. A great job."
"We are NOT finished by any means," said Thomas. "We've got to keep getting
better. We'll continue to evaluate the team day by day. It's quite possible
that we still need to get a little more athletic, a little better.
We have a game plan we are following. We'll do whatever we have to do
to accomplish our goals."
