Kobe:
像我們兩個人要"定勾ㄍ一",這不像a Shaq-Duncan matchup or a Shaq-Hakeem matchup
or even a Ewing or whatever it is
Shaq:

3. Bill Walton
Raj Detroit: Who's the better player today, Shaq or Kobe? And do you think
Kobe is still improving or has he hit is peak (on an individual level that is)?
Bill Walton: We have not eve begun to see the peak of Kobe Bryant. What makes
this game so intriguing is rarely have you ever had two players, as great as
they are, and former teammates, both so close to their prime. Shaq had already
played his best game physcially, but the mental challenge is still there. Kobe
hasn't even reached his peak yet.
The Lakers don't haveany rhythm or flow to their game. The Heat are on an
incredible roll, and the Lakers bearely treading water.
Fortunately for ABC, they can say the Lakers beat the Hornets!
They don't have to talk about a 3-game losing streak at home! But as we
approach this game, you have to say the Heat are serious favorites in a
vacuum. But we don't live in a vaccuum. We live in a world where Shaq has a
sore leg. A world where home court advantage on Christmas is nearly as great
as the 7th game of the Finals. Very hard to overcome. This as important a
game in the regular season as I can remember. I can't wait to get it on!

4. Kobe's not the bad guy
SI.com Arash Markazi
First, let's not act like Bryant is alone in this. Jackson didn't want to
coach Bryant and has admitted as much. So the fact that he isn't the coach of
the Lakers has just as much to do with him as it does with Bryant.
Second, O'Neal didn't want to play for the Lakers if Jackson wasn't coaching
and Bryant was the focal point of the team. So the fact that he isn't on the
Lakers has just as much to do with him as it does with Bryant and Jackson,
if not more so. Let's not forget it was O'Neal who demanded to be traded after
he felt theorganization was catering to Bryant.
Suddenly, the man who had criticized Bryant for refusing to realize who was
the leaderof the team could not handle a changing of the guard.
But no one's going to get mad at Shaq. He's "The Daddy," "The Diesel," "The
Big Aristotle." He's provided journalists with some of the greatest quotes
since Muhammad Ali. And no one's going to get mad at Jackson. Mr. "Zen Master,"
who won nine championships in 12 years and is regarded by most as the greatest
coach of all time.
So all the blame goes to Bryant, despite the fact濳he two men he supposedly
ran off乸ctually wanted to leave regardless if he was around.
In the end, Buss made the right decision in keeping Bryant and parting ways
with Jackson and O'Neal.
