摩托車拿到permit後, 只有下列限制
1. 不能帶人
2. 不能上freeway
3. 只能在白天騎
基於以上原則, 只要車子是你的, 有保險, 是可以自己騎去考試
如果是朋友的車, 最好朋友要在場
但是DMV對於摩托車比較沒那麼嚴
話說回來, 2009 DMV Motorcycle Handbook編的比去年好
也多了介紹DMV考照的內容 (Pg.6)
另外就是對於車類分類的解釋
DMV認為
Motor-Driven Cycles 是
1. 引擎cc數小於149
所以我們一般說的"scooter"其實應該是motor-driven cycles
另外DMV也有說Motorized Scooter是
1. any two-wheeled device with
--a. a motor, a handlebar, and a floorboard
--b. the ability to be powered by human propulsion
感覺起來Motorized scooter是一個比較generalized的term
另外考照不能用(may not)scooter去考
另外M1/M2都要考筆試和路試, M1可以騎所以分類在M2底下的車, 但是M2不能騎M1
(所以當然是直上M1啊 @@)
以前的界線(包括上freeway)是以250cc做分隔, 現在好像降到149了
