最近特別是大陸在美華人發動許多反對SCA-5的活動，在美的台灣人也應該多關心
自己的權益，事情的起因是加州是美國僅有的八個州禁止在大學入學上考慮種族
因素的州之一（http://aapf.org/projects/affirmative-action/map/）。
但目前有州參議員要發動公投，廢止這項規定，這個公投提案已經通過州參議會
，要到州眾議院審議，如果也獲得通過的話，就要進入公投程序，如果公投通過
，亞裔上UC加州大學的比例預期會降低，使得亞裔上加州大學的人數減少。
現在許多大陸美國華人團體，積極的在向州眾議員請願，希望能不要通過這項
公投提案，華人報紙如世界日報都有許多報導。
