Hemp, and Earth Day
Today, April 22, is Earth Day. Truly during these last few years, the chances
to be conscious of and focus on the earth, the air, and the sea have
increased. We are given the chance to live because of so many almost
unbelievable miracles. Our position by the sun. The location of the moon. The
inter-connectedness of all living things. Oxygen. Water. 1G. I’m so thankful
for all of it! The more I try to put this into music, and the longer I live,
the more I am moved by how precious it all is.
Earth Day…it’s so much fun.
By the way, I’ve become really into hemp these past few months. Hemp.
Cannabis. Marijuana. (Of course you can’t smoke it in Japan). Speaking
plainly, hemp is the plant with great secret power to save the Earth. Did you
know? Hemp can be made into clothing. Hemp cuisine is also good (…so I’ve
heard. I haven’t tried it yet). Hemp oil can become cosmetics or soap or
plastic, and can even power a car. It could eliminate the need for fossil
fuels! So why is such a wonderful plant regulated by the government? I’m
sure you all understand. Basically, a small number of people who became
wealthy from fossil fuels are in favor of such regulations. These are the few
who are in power. I won’t write any more than that, but you all get it. If
we all just make small efforts, like coming to big events like Earth Day, the
ripples will expand outward and become a message that even the politicians can
’t ignore. We must all take action. Earth Day is like that. Tomorrow, the
day after tomorrow, let’s all enjoy ourselves! There should be lots of hemp,
too! And let’s keep investigating – there must be lots of other plants that
are just as great. It’s so exciting.
The FLARE live. We’ve played at events, but this is our first time
performing outside. And we’re facing up against Kiyoshirou and GOCOO’s
bands. It should be great – let’s kick it into gear!
