Dear R&R Big Brother in Heaven
Has it really been seven years? I can’t believe it! So much time has passed
since you passed away. Time goes by so fast, doesn’t it. And everyone gets
older. Right now I’m 35, which means you would be 40! I just can’t believe
that! I’m still working like mad. Although I wouldn’t say I’m totally
happy (sad laugh) We’re all trying to carry on, to live life with all its
ups and downs. And we all live side-by-side with music. Right now is a really
interesting time for the world of music. The old rules of the entertainment
industry are falling apart around us. It’s really crazy, and sometimes hard
to hold on and keep playing. But there are plenty of new good things too. Are
you watching it all from where you are? Are you strumming your R&R guitar?
Are you happier than you were when you were here? I hope so. I want to
believe that you are.
Or, by some chance have you been reborn as someone else? Slowly and steadily I
’ve taken up your mission. I have lots of messages I believe are important
that I’ll keep trying to convey. I have no idea if I’m able to do so as
successfully as you did, but from now on, no matter what happens I’m going
to keep fighting. I don’t know what kind of emotions I’ll feel. I don’t
know whether I’ll live fifty more years or die tomorrow, so until the end,
all I can do is keep rocking.
Please, watch over me. I’m begging you, senpai! [1]
I love you, hide!
When I come to meet you, let’s hang out again. Let’ drink, and go to a hot
spring. It’s so lonely here without you. But I have faith, and I absolutely
believe that we’ll meet again. I’ll write again, once in a while.
Take care not to drink too much. (And also try to give up smoking, okay?)
This is Sugizo…wishing you all the best.
