Very Merry X'mas!!


December 23 is an important day for me, and being able to spend it on stage
is something that makes me truly happy. This year was of course SUPER LOVES
DAY. There were lots of annoying little problems to work out, but I think
that it turned out really well. This time, we tried to do a new kind of
acoustic live. I really wanted to create something natural and organic that
was at the same time all wrapped up in an electronic sound. I really love
singing along with an acoustic guitar, but I wanted something different. We
struggled to find a new style, a spacy one that would make you feel like you
were having a drug trip. I think that what we created was a kind of stylish
laptop-driven music.

Playing along with my wonderful friends Eric, K-Ta, Charlie, and Satsuki in
an entirely new environment made me feel like I could somehow let go and
relax a bit. We had such a great time along with all the people who came.
Thank you all so much! I want to keep on doing shows in the same style!

And once again, it’s Christmas. I’ve somehow never really liked the idea of
forcing time to conform to the artificial Gregorian calendar. During this
season, the streets are alight with romance…and also with materialism,
commercialism, and greed. We’re all brainwashed. But when I put this aside,
I feel that Christmas, the birthday of Jesus Christ, is really a remarkable
day. In that way, Christmas is a day I enjoy. Every year I go to Mass and
feel purified.

When you stop and think, there aren’t very many countries in the world where
people are blessed to be able to celebrate Christmas in the way we do. Being
in a safe and happy environment, drinking and eating delicious food…I’m
really thankful for those blessings. I pray from the bottom of my heart that
all the people on Earth will someday be able to spend this holy night without
fear or worry.
